I would never have thought to use the brown shoe polish!

Shoe polish gives the look of leather to bisque fired clay. It is time consuming. First apply polish, brush in, wipe off, then buff to a sheen with a shoe brush. The antiquing paint is much easier - brush on, sponge off.
